Phoropter 2 Painting

Subject of my painting are moments: Passing time with looks to changing processes. As I sat in a wicker chair, I was reading a book. “Ich bin dann mal weg” was the title, written by Hape Kerkeling. In my picture „Wicker chair“ You can see it, laying on the left side. The weather was clear, the sun was shining very brightly – but it was still tough to read. “I need glasses”, I thought. Back at home in Hamburg I called ophthalmologist for a physical examination. After the phone call I noticed, that the examination of my eyes is a strong relation to my painting! I decided to explain to the doctor my painting. I wanted to ask him to photograph me in a corresponding manner. The photos would be my template for the painting. But what if he was not prepared to do? In this case, I scheduled a meeting with another ophthalmologist. But both were in agreement! So I had two eye examinations and two different ways of looking at me. The pictures "phoropter" and "phoropter 2" are the results. Both times I picked a small-minded extra shirt. Because I went to see the exact thing I wanted to emphasize Sun. Both times I asked for a typical gesture. Thus, both works show it myself in my painting, but in the perspective of two independent ophthalmologists, which I put into my picturesque turn.
