The abstract nature of this painting allows viewers to interpret it in their unique ways, making it a powerful reflection of the complexity of human emotions and relationships. The colors and forms invite viewers to contemplate the duality of affection and boundaries in their own lives, making "Kissing Time" a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant piece of art. The dominant colors in this artwork are shades of blue, which evoke a sense of calm and tranquility. Blue often symbolizes introspection and self-awareness, which aligns with the theme of maintaining one's individuality. The beige tones add a warm and grounding element, symbolizing stability and balance. In contrast, the soft pink hues introduce an element of affection and tenderness. This composition creates a delicate balance between the colors, reflecting the delicate balance between the desire for affection and the need to preserve personal boundaries.

Vera Fonseka is an artist based in Portugal whose paintings have been widely exhibited nationally. She describes her works as conveying the paradoxical existence between the scrupulous intricacy of the details and the brutality of iconography. Fonseka's artistic process is marked by her use of mixed techniques with adhesives, fabrics, acrylics, and oils on canvas. She was born in 1982 in Tallinn (ex URSS, actually Estonia) in an actors-family. In 2003 Vera moved to Portugal where she's been living since then. Inspired by Kandinsky, Frank Stella, Beatriz Milhazes and Alexandra Mir, Vera Fonseka tries to make conceptual contribution in Contemporary Art.
