A series of profile drawings: started with a fascination for the profile portraits by Botticelli and other renaissance painters and materializing after turning to the internet through the pandemic lockdown and through a need to contribute to a community’s voice. Various means were used to render the drawings in this "Trouble" series. Sometimes rubber stamps are used. The stamps can have a narrative role in the drawing. The drawings are done at a scale slightly larger than life. Here the subject is an influential figure in a transactional initiative between two nation states. Her ability to engage in laughter with the weight of such negotiations, is a sign of personal strength. She is shown laughing delightfully but not sarcastically and not in the context of the political impasse that plays such major role in her life. 20% of the total price of this work goes to the John and Lillian Miles Lewis Foundation or an appropriate beneficiary of your choosing.
