About The Artwork

It was such a memorable evening at this prehistoric architectural sculpture . This stern face is of a Red Army soldier who frowns down at the ruins of Brest Fortress, shattered by the Nazis' surprise attack in 1941. This just had to be captured into art on a wall. . . Being a huge fan of history and archaeological sites, I found this place to be an ancient gold treasure mine of war memories. Brest is in Belarus also called “White Russia", which today is a separate country from Russia. The colossal war memorial is a dramatic reminder of how WWII is perceived in the former Soviet Union, and a startling architectural piece of its time.

I travel to study unusual facts of each country and picked up the bug for photography as a tool to chronicling my findings. . I use various mediums, forms, imagery, subject matter, and symbolism employed or adopted to focus on two aspects in all of my artwork—Innovation and beauty in everyday small things. I use expressive contour drawing and paint to create portraits in a modern style characterized by a surreal elongation of faces, necks, and figures in delicate colors. I also digitally draw and use cinema tools to create innovative art. I merge science with space, figures, time and neuroaesthethics to create happy lovely beautiful feelings. In portraits I use acrylics and water colors with a tranquil climate of the Mediterranean which focuses on the beauty in everyday small things. . I decided to revisit the Surrealism and Dadaism movement: what the themes were, the techniques that were used and how the work was received with my contemporary style.
