“The Artists' Dream Tree” (2016)

 24 x 36 in. The Dream Tree series began in 2014 during my first and previous self-curated group art exhibition "Bricks and Clouds". It is the bridge between the practical and the aspirational aspects of life, much like the saying "Keep your feet on the ground and your head in the clouds." This current Dream Tree represents creative collaboration and community, a space where different artists gather to celebrate their craft, creating a self-contained world as a result. This is my vision for the Artists Anonymous Collective, as a platform for developing artists and a support structure that not only allows them to fulfill their aspirations, but also contributes to a more vibrant local art scene. On a more personal level, this Tree also represents one's inner world at a point when all of one's multiple personalities are aligned to a greater purpose, and a person can then experience a true moment of integration. This sense of integration is also hinted at by the Yin Yang symbol which was the basis around which the painting was developed. Thanks! :) :: DETAILS :: - The penguin characters are hand-drawn on watercolor paper using ink and watercolor, and then glued onto the acrylic painted surface. - The entire painting surface is then protected with 2 coats of water resistant varnish. - The painting will arrive wired at the back and ready for hanging.
