I recently ventured into oil painting and I can't see myself going back from it. The inspiration to paint comes from my lineage of artists, who have time and again proved that art indeed provides solace to the soul. The artists from centuries ago, and the contemporary oil painters did ignite this spark in me to showcase my mind on a canvas. Rest, a very dear friend made me realise how different my view on erotic art and human anatomy is and how the world needs to see my perspective. The reason behind the choice of subject is my appreciation for the female body. The beauty, the curves, the fleshy, supple skin, the little peculiarities and attributes- these are the a few things that I'd die for. The female body in frame is my very first self portrait. It is a work of art which raises a voice of its own against the whole culture of body shaming. The main theme of this particular artwork, however, is something related to my love for erotica. This painting gives a glimpse of a body which has an afterglow. A relaxed, calm and well-pleasured demeanor is what I have tried to show.
