About The Artwork
Moon Shadow: this painting was painted by Peter Edwards just before he painted his classic ‘Runaway’ and in 2014 he reverted to this style to paint ‘Light Train’, all available on Saatchi Art. Moon Shadow verges on scurrility more than the others with the central tree almost taking on animate form. Most people do not realize that the long shadow in the stream that gives the painting its name is cast by the man standing on the edge of the forest just over halfway up on the left hand side. The figure of the man has been reused from another painting he did called Incognito where it’s used as a shop window dummy. All three painting are among the most popular he has painted.
