In "Campitelli, Agosto 1998", I am in the mountains with my mom, sitting on a rock with a stunning view of the prairie with various sheep and the forested mountains in the background. The sun is high and strong, it's summertime, and the colors are bright and vibrant. The well-orchestrated composition is filled with a texture made up of brushstrokes that are as rough as they are well-arranged to represent plants, sheep, light, and shadows on the grass. This painting is based on a childhood photo and is part of a series of paintings that I made to reconnect with my past. I used to go on the mountain with my parents every year, and it was like a beautiful parenthesis, far from the city, school, and work, where we were all relaxed and lived beautiful moments. Despite the strong and lively colors, the painting is full of nostalgia. "Campitelli, Agosto 1998" fits into my broader artistic practice and style as it refers directly to an experience I lived. This painting, along with others in the series, was exhibited at a personal exhibition at Atelier Montez in Rome.
