About The Artwork

Antique automobiles are not only vehicles, but symbols of elegance, sophistication and engineering, images that when merged with artistic expression, invite you to travel in time, creating a landscape that dances on a stage of ephemeral beauty that celebrates the convergence of creativity and beauty of machinery. Brushstrokes of nostalgia and elegance that, through expressionism, seek to highlight the transience of the light that surrounds them, to give new life to these old treasures. My first car was a 1947 Morris and in this series of images, I evoke memories, emotions and memorable experiences that have become part of my life and a witness to my travels and adventures. I decided to explore expressionism as a way to capture timeless beauty. I went out with my photography equipment in search of abandoned vehicles, looked for the best times of sunrise or sunset, and experimented with different angles and compositions. I zoomed in to capture interesting details and textures and zoomed out to see how the rusty colors blended into the landscape. Abandoned vehicles can be intriguing elements in themselves, but by playing with their shapes integrating into their surroundings, I felt that the narrative of expressionism through the distortion of reality and the use of vibrant colors and exaggerated shapes was appropriate to represent my experience in an intense and emotionally charged way with personal feelings and visions. After capturing the images I edited them digitally to highlight and apply painterly effects and went in search of a style that travels between expressionism and impressionism. I want my works to convey an exciting narrative of nostalgia and for viewers to evoke their own adventures and give space to identify their own memories and experiences.
