“War and Peace” / "La Guerre et la Paix" (description en français plus bas) Art is the witness of its time. ‘War and Peace” is the eyewitness of the chaos of our times, the irrationality of the events, the dichotomy of the information that permanently bombards us. This “hybrid” painting shows a lyrical approach giving as well delicate hints of criticism or political references in some cases, passing through sarcasm in some others. I’m translating personal emotions through an appropriation practice related to post-graffiti aesthetics, inviting the viewer to make his personal associations. "War & Peace" and its multiplicity of meanings has led me to 'cutting edge' improvisation as if I was taking literally part of a wall out from the street or a part of the society and carrying it to the studio to create this extra large piece. I used mixed technique on canvas including oil, acrylic, structure, paper, magazines cuts and everything I found in my path while I was conceiving this piece of art, that I like to call with a bit of wit “Fresco of our Time” :) The title is inspired by “War and Peace”, a jewel of the Russian literature, by author Leo Tolstoy. Size: 170 x 200 cm (67" x 78.8") The canvas is not stretched on a frame, it will be shipped free of charge in a reinforced cardboard tube. You will have two options to hang your canvas: 1- You attach and stretch it directly on your wall like a tapestry. The fabric is not cut off the ends. This is an original and modern way to present a canvas. 2. You can ask your framer who can stretch your canvas on a wooden frame usually for a very for a reasonable price. You will get a canvas in three dimensions with the painted side of matching color. The uncut edges of the canvas will be folded under the frame. Your canvas is protected from dust and U.V. rays by a special varnish. Signed on the Front and the Back/ Delivered with a Certificate of Authenticity. Cette peinture « hybride» montre une approche lyrique. Je traduis des émotions personnelles par une pratique d'appropriation liée à l'esthétique post-graffiti, invitant le spectateur à prendre son temps pour plonger dans une interprétation personnelle des éléments présents sur la toile. «La Guerre et la Paix » et sa multiplicité de significations m'ont amené à l'improvisation «de pointe» comme si je prenais littéralement partie d'un mur de la rue ou de la société et le transportais au studio pour créer cette pièce extra-large. J'ai utilisé la technique mixte sur toile, y compris l'huile, l'acrylique, la structure, le papier, les coupes de magazines et tout ce que j'ai trouvé sur mon chemin pendant que je concevais cette œuvre d'art, que j’aime appeler avec un brin d’humour « la Fresque de nos Jours » :) Le titre est inspiré de «La Guerre et La Paix», un joyau de la littérature russe, par Léon Tolstoï. Dimensions: 170 x 200 cm (67" x 78.8") La toile n'est pas étirée sur un cadre, elle sera expédiée gratuitement dans un tube en carton renforcé. Vous aurez deux options pour l’accrocher. 1- Vous pouvez la fixez et l'étrier directement sur votre mur comme une tapisserie. Le tissu n'est pas coupé sur les extrémités. C'est une façon originale et très moderne de présenter une toile. 2. Vous pouvez l'étirer votre toile sur un cadre en bois généralement pour un prix très raisonnable. Vous obtiendrez une toile en trois dimensions avec le côté peint de couleur assortie. Les bords non coupés de la toile seront pliés sous le cadre. Votre toile est protégée de la poussière et des U.V. par un vernis spécial. La toile est signée au recto et au verso et elle est accompagnée d’un Certificat d’Authenticité.
