Nauset Dunes Early September Painting

This work is inspired by five decades of love for the ever-changing landscape of Cape Cod Massachusetts. I grew up in the waters during the summers and came later to live and paint year round. This piece was done in oils, en plein air on Nauset Beach in early September. I wanted to capture the vibrant green grass and cool shadows cast by the dunes on the warm beach. I'm always intrigued by the house in the distance, sitting silent during the off-season. This painting is on a gallery canvas with the depth painted white so it may be hung with or without a frame. All work is signed and varnished to protect and show the brilliance of color. It is backed with dust paper and wire ready to hang. If you would like to frame this piece it fits into a 1.5" depth floating frame making the entire piece visible.
