What/who inspired the work? The last three paintings in my Yupo paper series are Rothko-style. This one is well defined areas of pink edged in blue and the entire outside is a shade of chartreuse, which is a very interesting color combination, in my opinion. The theme of pink is influencing my painting during this time as I am reading the book, "Change your aura, change your life" which describes a beautiful pink aura as being a high vibrational love filled aura. The dynamic tension between the colors used in this piece gives it a lot of energy. I am constantly rethinking Rothko inspired works and modernizing them for today's interiors. My favorite era of artists is the 20th midcentury abstract expressionists. I live in a Midcentury house and I go on Midcentury house tours. What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? My hope is that this painting might find the right home in which it ties multiple elements in the room together through the use of color in a pleasing way. Words are unnecessary, but color conveys emotion, mood, and ambience in a room. Each person reacts according to their own inner world, differently on different days. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? Because acrylic work on paper is my favorite way to work. Currently, I am using Yupo paper to see how far I can stretch its limits. This painting was done using acrylic paints on 11x14" Yupo paper and is ready to frame, with or without a mat, behind glass Size: 11x14 inches. Acrylic Paints. Sold Unframed.

Welcome to my Saatchi online gallery! I have done many styles of art for several decades, including Asian brush stroke ink painting, and midcentury abstract expressionism. I'm constantly exploring new subjects, materials, and methods. My yoga and meditation practices influence my art style, through which I hope to impart tranquility, peace, and playfulness. My preferred mediums are acrylic, ink, graphite, and watercolor on paper. I love to work on flat, white paper, which gives paintings an effect one cannot achieve on canvas — plus, it affords the opportunity to add a stunning frame. The music I listen to when I create art ranges from Native American drumming to Tibetan and Gregorian chants, Vivaldi, and singers like Leonard Cohen and Loreena McKennitt. Approximately two hundred of my paintings have been sold to people across the U.S., Britain, and Canada. My work has been exhibited in galleries in Colorado and Nebraska. I joined Saatchi in 2023.
