VIEW IN MY ROOM
Growing up during an era when television was in black and white and shows mostly contained cowboys, and inspired by the many photographs of Marion Morrison ("John Wayne") contained in the Getty Museum's Open Source Project and elsewhere, it is not surprising that my first portrait contained a likeness of this handsome actor. This was the painting that taught me that I could, in fact, paint portraits!

United States
I have always been fascinated by the human eyes.My traditional oil on linen portraits feature the subject's face--up close and personal.I envision that my artwork evolves in my mind's eye and is translated by my hands to the canvas. I am a native New Englander and I am married to a man with deep roots in the Great Smokey Mountains. We have two beautiful children. Much of the inspiration for my artwork is drawn from the experiences of our family, from the viewpoint of me-the Mother!
