The old man of Storr Drawing

Final half-day on Skye and we decided to go back to the Storr range. Mainly because we were ejected from our cottages.com rental at 10.00 am so we had best-part of a day to burn, and partly because it was a beauty day and so the Storr was a surefire joyous way to extend our trip, but also admittedly, mostly, because I had lost my pencil case somewhere up among the lava outcroppings a few days earlier. There was nothing valuable in it, but it had a fair amount of sentimental value having been with me for a couple of decades. Recovering the pencil case was definitely a long shot. The pencil case turned out to be a lost hope, but as we had hoofed it all the way up again, I took the opportunity to have another go at the Old Man. So Josie and I sketched while Ed and Karen ate chocolate and sang Stan Rogers' Barrett's Privateers for the Storr's distinctive echo effects. "Oh the year was seventeen seventy eight" Sketch is on facing pages of a sketchpad and was drawn in-situ.
