About The Artwork
The new year evoke for me the cycle the earth makes around the sun, the journey we are all undertaking, consciously or unconsciously. And when i think of the sun, I see this great ball of fire, spitting flares of energy, while we revolve peacefully around it. I hope this picture will absorb the viewer, first in its simple geometry between the sun, the earth and the stars, then in the intricate details that make the image whole, the volume and the optical illusion. The pattern I used is one i have been working on in a couple of previous drawings which represented winter landscapes with the moon.

Isabelle Duverger is an award-winning French New York based visual artist. Her work as a painter and immersive interactive installation artist has been presented throughout the US, Asia and Europe. She is a 2021 Motion Award Nominee in the category Interactive/Experiential - Installation, Hybrid Vision Panasonic Digital Art Competition 2022 Nominee for Interactive Digital Art, three-time New York Innovative Theater Awards nominee for Outstanding Innovative Design. With her long-time collaborator Laia Cabrera, she helped create Coolture Impact interactive public art platform in Times Square, which they inaugurated with their piece “The Now". Her work has been presented in renowned venues such as Spring/Break Art Show (Armory Arts Week), Central Park Summer Stages, Times Square Plaza and St John the Divine Cathedral, La Mama, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) in New York, NJPAC, Flutter Experience Art Gallery, Los Angeles, Nuit Blanche and Georgetown Glow, Washington DC, Teatros del Canal, Madrid, Spain, Hong Kong City Hall and Tempietto Di Bramante, Roma, Italy among others.
