About The Artwork

The Latin word "mollire" means "to soften" or "to make soft." This word is derived from the Latin word "mollis," which means "soft" or "gentle." In Latin literature, "mollire" was often used in a figurative sense to describe the process of calming or soothing the emotions. For example, the Roman poet Ovid used the word in his poem "Metamorphoses" to describe how the love goddess Venus attempted to soften the heart of the god of war, Mars, in order to prevent him from harming her lover, Adonis. Over time, the meaning of "mollire" evolved to encompass a broader range of contexts. In medieval Latin, the word was often used to describe the process of softening metals, as well as the process of preparing food by making it soft or tender. Today, the word "mollire" is not commonly used in modern Latin or in contemporary language, but its roots can still be seen in words derived from it in Romance languages, such as the French word "mollifier" (to soften) and the Italian word "ammorbidire" (to soften or make tender).

Born with a passion for color and shape, Candice has always been drawn to the endless possibilities of the art form. As a child, she would spend hours exploring the colors and textures of the world around her, seeking inspiration in every corner of her environment. For Candice, gradients are a powerful tool for telling a story. By blending colors and shapes together in subtle and unexpected ways, they create a sense of movement and flow that draws the viewer in and invites them to explore an underlying story. By using gradients to represent the subtle shifts and changes in atmosphere, she is able to capture the depth and complexity of human relationships in a way that is both beautiful and compelling.
