"Champagne House", acrylic, fluorescent & golden colors on canvas - worked "en plein-air" at Cracow Artistic Residence 2020, finished in my Cracow studio, PL... (...) A valuable work has to speak for itself, break away from its author and live its own life. The spaces immortalized in the Serge Vasilendiuc’s wandering are included in a slightly ingenious way. The brush stroke is certain, carefully polished with the clearness which often charms by the overlap of the chromatic layers. On the other hand, I would say that it also aspires to surrealism but in a restrained way, slightly outdated. The author hides something in his works, there is a tactic silence, the game of angles, curves and lines which means more than houses. He hides the presence of the man, completely absent in his works but his presence can be felt in every piece of stones or bricks. However it is the presence of a man who hides something away or hides out from something. Nobody can explain that, even the moon which watches unreservedly somewhere from above or from the bottom but certainly with eyes wide open. (Bogdan Bretoiu)
