My work relies upon images of pieces of furniture that have been part of my life and part of my childhood, such as the ones that were in my dollhouse and of my experience of working in theater and my installations of ephemeral architecture. My search is centered at emphasizing the magnificence of a particular and common object, not only as a utilitarian thing, but also as an entity that can be visualized in different skins and different coatings, and that can have a different use than its original one without the loss of its most essential and classic conception.

Venezuela
Guiomar Gamero is a highly trained Visual Artist. For forty years, she has been the Creative Director of her company "La Fiesta Coordinada", with which she has created nationally and internationally) installations of different scales, with scenographies in which the world of furniture, objects, and flora transcend the functional and pleasant and gradually begins to shape the plastic problem of her work. Her plastic activity revolves around the mixing of materials and various objects, always with an emphasis on furniture, objects, and color planes. Her work combines different scales to create artistic scenographies, where the abstraction of the utilitarian element is the protagonist alongside primary, vibrant, and invasive colors. In this way, Gamero takes us on a journey with her works through multiple situations that characterize contemporary art, such as appropriation and repetition, in combination with different techniques of expression, from the most traditional such as drawing, painting, collage and embossing, to the latest digital techniques: computer, tablet, photography, giclee, and museum prints with fine art pigments. Gamero's work is framed within Pop Art with the difference that there are no faces or figures: the human element is suggested by indispensable objects of her daily life that contrast with large color planes."
