"United" from the "22 faces, 13 days, 1 message" Collection The idea for this series struck me one afternoon while I was people-watching in a busy city square. Amidst the diverse crowd, I noticed how the separate sounds of various voices blended into a harmonious buzz. It hit me then - the divisions we often take for granted are largely artificial, constructs of society rather than truths of nature. This sparked a question in my mind: What if we could visually demonstrate that underneath, we are all fundamentally the same? Driven by this thought, I devised "22 faces, 13 days, 1 message." I wanted to challenge and perhaps even transcend these visual boundaries through visual art. I decided to bring together 22 individuals from different ethnic backgrounds, and through the use of makeup, color contacts, and hair dye, obscure the usual markers of race, in an attempt to strip down to the core of human identity. This project was both a personal exploration and a public statement, reflecting my belief in the transformative power of art to confront and reshape perceptions. I challenge viewers to confront your ingrained biases, to question the prejudices society has etched deep within us, and to recognize that beneath our superficial differences, we share the same fears, hopes, dreams, and desires. We are profoundly alike at our core, bound together by the universal human experience.
