Rhonda Roth

Hi. I’m Rhonda Roth, an artist living in New York City. Working in watercolor and oil pastel, I create unique modern Jewish art, one of a kind landscape and seascape paintings, and evocative abstract art. I started drawing as a child, began painting in my teens, and haven't stopped creating. I've always loved making art, expressing my inner feelings and moods on paper. Creating art is a pleasure and also my therapy that calms me if things get overwhelming.

I find inspiration for my modern Jewish art in the vibrant tapestry of Judaica and the Jewish holidays. Using the unpredictable nature of watercolor, the vibrant colors and texture of oil pastel, I translate the symbolism and stories of Jewish tradition into luminous and deeply personal works of modern Jewish art. There's a story behind each painting of Judaica, and an excitement of the celebration of the Jewish holidays.

I love nature’s natural beauty. My landscape and seascape paintings are journeys in abstract realism. They are deeply expressive, using varying color palettes reflecting the splendor of the changing seasons. I'm a self-taught artist. I've also benefited from additional watercolor and drawing instruction from other professional artists including Brent Eviston, Luis Borrero, Jill Poyerd, and David Jamieson.
