Efim Melnik was born in Moldova, part of former Soviet Union. Drawing and painting was his passion from very young age. He graduated from art school in 1970 , and in 1974 from architecture college. until 1978 he worked as an art designer . In 1978 he and his family immigrated to Israel, where his passion for art continued. In 1999 his family immigrated to Canada. They settled in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Efim has participated in many art shows in the region. In 2010 he was awarded at the annual juried show. His main subjects for his paintings include landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes and still lifes. His main medium is oil.
