My paintings are kind of notes of special moments in which I was able to be sufficiently open to a deeper understanding of myself and the people close to me, our actions and feelings. It's an attempt of an inner man portraiture. Therefore, it seems to me, occurred a need for simplified figuration, deformation, omitting parts of the face and body, as opposed to how we humans are accustomed to perceive each other in our physical environment. Is it actually possible to express abstractness of emotions and ideas about man by painting the human figure? In what way and how much these ideas are, concerning growing up in the community, education and cultural heritage, visually formed in our minds? As god is depicted in human form, because that is what our minds can comprehend and feel familiar to, I spontaneously choose to describe the spirit as something equally human too, but also strive to get out of these boxes. The picture that balances on the imaginary boundary of physical and spiritual, for me, is a form of connection and communication with other people.
