ABOUT THE ARTWORK

It is one of my oil painting on canvas created in 2010. It shows figure of a person having their arms crossed in manner if they say - I don't care. I will not do anything.... I felt upset with reality that time. When I finished my artwork, I have realised that the figure I have painted with heavy dark brush strokes on the orange background was similar to the teritorium shape of my country. It has generated additional meaning... This is modern, caligraphic oil painting, very enegetid due to vibrant orange colour and contrasting dark brush strokes. I hop you will like it.

My artistic fabrics create colorful spaces that affect emotionally and energetically on the viewer. Light floating, fluttering color planes, sometimes very subtle and delicate other times extremely strong and expressive surprise the mastery of performance and the power of expression. Silk is a conscious choice: the extraordinary lightness and ethereality of matter, as well as its transparency, are in great harmony with the understatement style of painting, based on carefully studied coloring. The artworks are my constant search for the combination of delicacy and strength that silk gives special nobility. My artworks are arranged in several painting cycles: The first one is the painting "Hanami" made every spring reffering to ancient chinese or japanese painting. They are depicting blooming flowers of fruit trees such as plums, cherries, and apples. In summer, she bends over the blades of grass, flowers, landscape. Often motifs evolve towards abstraction - landscapes are brought to belt color schemes, or abstract forms. Separate series are abstract paintings in which a special role is played by the painting process - unpredictable and not obvious. The "Splash" or "Hot Sands" series (2017-2018) created by the use of free-flowing paints of different consistency. Dyes are applied directly to the damp silk fabric spread on the table, referring to action painting. It examines the effect of painting matter - its softness, the way of spilling paint, delamination and dye migration. As a result, it creates full of abstract energy and dynamic forms. Captures the essence of things. The other series (from 2019) are abstract paintigs basing on colorful ombres. I am colorist inspired by art of Mark Rothko, Yves Klein, Barnett Newman, Wojciech Fangor. From 2021 I have started square series inspired by Josef Albers square compositions as well as "Painting the Absolute" by Kazimir Malevich. I wanted my artwork to represent infinity, to be somehow mysical, meditative and soothing. This kind of painting - basing on colorful ombres is representative for me.
