Whether it is a portrait or an investigation to our cultural surroundings, I strive to interconnect our cultural environment to what creates us as individuals. Recently, I ventured away from the figure and worked on a series of 18 landscapes investigating man's interaction with nature in the Twin Tiers area of New York and Pennsylvania. The series of oil paintings is entitled Composure and it portrays the often large industrial and governmental projects in our local community and how it changes our visual landscape. I have had the opportunity and privilege to study and work underneath artists such as Dennis Wojkiweicz, Patrick Betauldier, and Leslie Adams. And my experiences not only extend from these mentors but also artists I've lived and worked with abroad at Hospitalfield House in Scotland and the Atelier Neo Medici in France. Other influential artists include but are not limited to, Sargent, Holman Hunt, Lord Leighton, Rembrandt, Rubens, Degas, David Mach, and Francis Bacon. I currently teach Drawing, Painting, and Gallery Management at Mansfield University.
