Living and working on the South Devon coastline profoundly inspires my art, a search to capture the unseen emotions and connections that define us. In my acrylic seascapes, loose, textural layers translate the raw power and quiet beauty of the shifting tides and vast horizons. My figurative series, 'The Flesh That Binds Us', turns inward, using abstracted forms and symbolic elements to explore the intricate ties of family, memory, and identity. This exploration also finds expression in my monotype prints, where the unique process allows for a direct and tactile engagement with themes of connection and presence. Across these diverse mediums, my work aims to give form to fleeting moments of connection – to nature, to one another, and to the many selves we inhabit.
