Maja was born 1983 in Skopje, Macedonia. Her first participation was in the "Small Monmartre of Bitola" the Colony Of Fine Arts, at only 12 years of age, winning grand prix award, which provided her scholarship for high school. After finishing high school, she attended the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje, graduating among the top artists of her generation. After graduation she has attended countless of colonies locally, as well in the Balkans. Specialized in restoration and conservation, she has painted many inside wall of churches. There was a period in her life when she was occupied with making stone mosaics, since then, she is back to painting. Mainly known for painting nudes, gothic dark paintings, using dark colors, she has now decided to switch her style in using bright colors, painting a mix between realistic and abstract, inspired by the broken and twisted society we are living in. The paintings represent the broken society and the colors tell us that we all must strive to find happiness within.
