Teodora Djordjevic was born in Belgrade, Serbia in 1969, graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts - Department of Painting at the University of Arts in Belgrade in 1993, and studied photography within her previous education at the Graphic Design Department of the School of Design in Belgrade. In final year of her studies, she was awarded the prize of the Foundation of Miodrag Janjušević MSc - academic painter, and was included in the selection of Perspectives XXI. In addition to several group exhibitions, she exhibited independently in the Paleta Gallery of the Cultural Center of Belgrade in 1994 and in the Andrićev Venac Gallery of the Yugoslav Art Gallery in 1995 in Belgrade. Teodora finds inspiration from diversity of the ambiences she explores, from architecture, wide open space full of light and life, to abandoned apocalyptic places with hardly visible traces of the former human presence. These contrasts are the main focus of her work and reflect her impression of the world she lives in, with all its dynamics, eternal conflict and range from darkness to light.
