Simeon Todev (born 1965) is a Bulgarian artist. He is part of the generation of the Bulgarian artists who emerged during the 2000s. His works frequently employ cultural and spiritual themes while often using material, or traditional objects to depict conflict in subtle ways. Todev emerged as one of the major Bulgarian artists during the 2000s, with a body of highly provocative works. Through his career, Todev has continued to appropriate eternal topics, to make works that provoke and ask questions, to discuss the cultural and spiritual wealth of the humankind. Simeon Todev is also known for his self-deride. In his solo exhibition Let’s spit at the Culture in 2004, he served sunflower seeds to the visitors to identify the most attractive works in hindsight. Since 2005 he is elected chairman of Artists Association Haskovo.
