ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I don’t paint artworks… In fact, I feel that I rather tell stories; mine, yours… and these stories are triggered by a remote memory, from an old rediscovered book, an obsessive tune, a poem or a game that belongs to childhood. That child inside me asks for a story… and I write him one! Not with words, but with my color palette, using the energy of my brushes and all the passion in my soul. "Il giardino muto" is a nostalgic representation of the glorious civilizations of the past; majestic and opulent vestiges of an imaginary garden are silently resting in the bottom of the sea, softly cradled by the currents.

I am an Italian painter, illustrator and designer, born in Sassari in the island of Sardinia, where my career as an artist started back in 1976. After several group and individual exhibitions in different Italian and European cities, I settled in Paris, France in 1990. There, I established a textile design studio and produced many prestigious furnishing fabrics collections worldwide. From 1993 to 2000, I participated in International fairs such as INDIGO in Lille & Brussels, HEIMTEXTIL in Frankfurt and SURTEX in New York. I moved to Lebanon in 1998 and was responsible for managing the creative output of IKONA Design (advertising agency), in parallel to my painting career and participating in individual and collective art exhibitions. Since 2017, I'm based in Barcelona, Spain and I dedicate my time fully to painting. I have been painting for more than 40 years. In other words, Art has become a second language for me that allows me even better than words to express my emotions and my views on essential things in life.
