Green Grocers and a Red Bag Print

As a painter, I work largely with oil colour on canvas using bold and strong pallettes. I paint expressively using pallette knives and brushes thereby creating textures on the canvas as I build up colours, adding complexity to the painting until my subject becomes real to me. The end result is an artifact of the process. My background impacts my art a great deal. This influence allows me to draw inspirations from my personal experiences, my thoughts on various social issues and my immediate environment. I empathize and challenge the status quo and like to confront issues head-on. However sometimes I tend to simply set an agenda with my subjects.
