My name is Iana Nikutina, an artist of Ukrainian origin living in Austin, Texas. I have a bachelor's and master's degree in design and art. Central to my artistic practice is through realistic and semi-realistic depictions of landscapes, flora, and humans. I also devote time to Petrykivka painting* but with my own perspective on it. Utilizing a palette of bold colors and intricate patterns, I reinterpret personal narratives and cultural heritage. My portrayal of flowers ranges from meticulous realism to abstract representations. *Petrykivka painting is a Ukrainian decorative and ornamental folk painting, which was formed in the Dnipropetrovsk region in the village of Petrykivka. Household items with patterns in the style of Petrykivka painting have been preserved since the 17th century. Today, the famous drawing technique has turned into a brand and was included in the list of intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.
