Visiting a little chapel on the isle of Crete I saw looking outside the blue sky and the blue sea. Afterwards in my fantasy it looks like this and I have painted in blue colours. The medium I always use is oil. Sometimes on wood but most on canvas. I like to paint realistic or surrealistic.

I was born in 1943 in Denekamp, Netherlands. After my two sons became independend, I deceided to study at the Academy of arts and follow an old dream.I love colours and I'm inspired mainly by surrealistic and magic-realistic artists.Currently I'm living and working in Sint-Oedenrode in Holland. After completing my study at the Academy,I began searching for sources of inspiration and my own style. At first I found inspiration in objects from my surrounding, resulting in series of still life paintings.Later on I focussed more on my own imagination and perception.Traveling memories , personal and global events and emotions are now the inspirationsource.Using images based on every day reality I try to create another world, a world sometimes a little strange. My paintings are richly colored and narrative. I want to bring some joy and sometimes I have a message. I also make portraits in commission.
