I lived on Penobscot Bay in Maine and the bay is dotted with islands. The sky changes colors constantly and the colors are reflected in the water. This is one of a series in which I use the dark land masses as abstract shapes contrasted against the sea and sky colors.

She has been a full time painter for over 20 years. Travel has influenced her work allowing her to see the universal and unique aspects of a landscape simultaneously. Working with several different mediums, oil, pastel, wax, acrylic, she distills and extracts the essence of a subject, conveying a mood of serenity and calm.
