An exceptional scientist, she is the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize and, to date, the only woman to have received two. She remains the only person to have been rewarded in two distinct scientific fields1. She was also the first woman to win, with her husband, the Davy medal in 1903 for her work on radium2. And apart from that she and her husband, two daughters and son in laws as a family, holds more Nobel Prizes than any other. 1903 - Marie Curie shared her first Nobel with Pierre Curie. 1911 - Marie then won an individual Nobel. 1935 - Irene [daughter] Shared her Nobel with her husband. 1965 - Eve’s [daughter] husband then received a Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of UNICEF.
