Jesselle Sue is an Asian-American abstract artist whose practice merges the sensibility of Eastern aesthetics with the material language of contemporary painting.
Her works prioritize breath, interval, and the poetics of incompletion.
Negative space functions not as absence, but as presence —
a field where color, ink, and texture continue to speak after the brush is lifted.
Her surfaces evolve through natural cracking, organic flow, and unforced accumulation of pigment,
reflecting philosophies of impermanence, quietness, and becoming.
Rather than finishing a painting, she permits it to grow.
