ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Communicating emotion triggered by location and temporality. This image is an evocation – catalysing the act of recalling a feeling, memory, or image to the conscious mind. Please enter the image and discover forgotten thoughts. From my on-going series concerned with Temporal Residue. This body of continuing creation manifests the distillation of time and place into abstracted form. Working in locations that have hosted many of my life’s pivotal emotional scenarios, I applied my photographic creative process of psychoanalysis and synaesthetic interpretation to make in camera images that act as invitations for a viewer to immerse themselves into their own journey of memory and emotional recall. These images act as both stimulant and backdrop to play out previously forgotten acts. Each image is hand printed and quality checked individually by me, using archival pigmented Epson UltraChrome inks on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Paper – Photo Rag Smooth, a 100% cotton paper (308gsm) guaranteeing archival standards. This combination creates vivid and intense colour with vibrancy and an incredible tonal range for black and white images. The paper size is A0 - 1188mm(46-13/16in) x 841mm(33-1/8in). The photograph will be signed verso and arrive with a letter of authenticity confirming its provenance and limited-edition reference no. Please contact me directly for larger or smaller sizes, different substrates, including aluminium and C-type photographic chemical prints, plus any other question or request.

Daniel Pangbourne is a British born artist, who creates in the abstract and metaphysical fine art photographic and oil/acrylic/canvas genres, working out of his converted metal works factory in S.W. London. Working across several mediums including lens based and camera less image creation, traditional photographic print making, handmade printing papers and in-studio digital reproductions, Pangbourne excels in the craft of the photographic process and presentation. With a BA(hons) and MA degree in photographic art, and after many years working on location, in the studio and dark room environments, Pangbourne uses the language of art photography to communicate his inner thoughts and emotions. His work has been internationally exhibited and appears in many private collections. Influenced and inspired by the psychology and philosophy of Abstract Expressionist, Surrealist and Psychoanalytical artists such as Michael Floman, Nicholas Hughes, Kasimir Malevich, Ira Martin, Henry Holmes Smith, Marcus Rothko, Jackson Pollock and Frederick Sommer plus many others. For the viewer his allegorical art is profoundly moving, spiritual energy is made visible. By reacting in an individual and personal way, the viewer is interrelated with the image, their relationship is a continuing intimate journey of discovery and evolvement.
