This artwork is about the fabric remnants that we keep stored away for years or sometimes decades. We harbour an emotional attachment to these pieces of cloth as they may remind us of a time or a person from the past or even an idea that persists that we will use them one day to make something new. The pieces of fabric I have used in this piece I obtained from my Grandmother 20 years ago. My attachment to them is partially an attachment to her memory. The artwork was created by gluing strips of fabric, buttons and wool on to a stretched canvas and then painting it with acrylic.

Delivery Time:

I am predominantly interested in the natural world and the structures and connections that are inherent within from a microscopic to a massive level. There is a lot of bright colour in my work and my main aim is to create a harmonious balance between the many colours and forms within the composition. Through my work I hope to inspire the awe that I feel about nature and its interconnectedness in others. I use a variety of 2D media and my style is semi-abstract or realistic and there is often a symbolic element involved.
