ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work, titled "Trice" after the quick, decisive, and energetic process that was used, was an exploration of motion and thought put into actualization. On-the-fly composition mixed with the inability to remove, only to change what already existed on the canvas after each addition. This piece is grounded by one large stroke, and then accented through constantly changing painting methods around the canvas. All pieces are protected with a finishing layer of varnish.

Dan J Goodrich began his artistic ventures with photography. It quickly grew to include watercolor, stained glass, woodburning, and anything else he could get his hands on. Dan most recently fell in love with the emotional and freeform world of abstract painting. Working with acrylics to create snapshots of who he is in that moment, Dan captures the essence of human emotion in a very expressive and spontaneous way while attempting to create complex compositions that still appeal to the eye. Dan is also now experimenting with mixed media, including metal leafing as a way to create art that interacts with the environment it is set in. This new era of Dan's painting is much more planned and inspired by other works he's experienced.
