ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I enjoy walking at night, and seeing how a very familiar landscape can be transformed into something new. Lights shining through windows allow us to glimpse interiors we normally do not get to see, and apartment buildings become a series of vignettes, each window opening up onto a different little world. This painting plays with the grid as motif, where the contrasts of dark/light, day/night, as well as the shift between illusions of depth and flat surface grid create a painting that is very dynamic to look at.
