ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Found this rodent skull during one of the many daily walks. Put it (after washing) next to my tried and true model, human skull "Wilson" for a comparative anatomy study. But the study wanted to be a painting instead. So the watercolour paper that usually is a beautiful base for drawing became what it is. The complete painting did retain some of the original comparative intent, but it got away a little too, becoming something else. Enjoyed the way they fade into the multi coloured background and then jump back up with their eyes.

Live in New England Milltown, getting bored when the weather stays the same. Work much the same way. Followed one week of sculpting with one long stint of mostly drawing. Starting oils. Looking at the waterfall up the road, manmade and covered by a sky that never can decide if it wants to rain. The waterfall makes up for it. Or the men who built it.
