ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is a giclee print on Hahnemuhle Art Canvas. No stretcher bars accompany this piece. Size is 22" x 36". I became a bit obsessed with finding a Blue Jay in Chicago, Illinois. This turned into the discovery of other birds that are blue and rarely seen in the city. Indigo Buntings have some of the richest blue colors I've ever seen as far as feathers go. Most of the birds I paint are looking at the viewer. It's as if they've been caught or confronted with a question. I wanted the texture of the feathers to stand out even though the setting is in nature, in order to bring attention to their richness.
