ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I created this image on a blistering hot Nashville day in 2019 when I came across a patch of cosmos busy with butterflies and bees. Around the time I took these, I purchased my dream camera from an estate sale, a Hasselblad 500cm. I found an old roll of film inside the camera and processed it, which yielded about six grainy black images with light leaks, speckles, and scratches. I colorized one of those blank frames and layered it into this final image for added depth and texture. The result is the memory of a muggy Tennessee summer.
