As the artist behind this abstract piece, titled "Moby-Dick," I sought to capture the tumultuous and profound essence of Herman Melville's iconic novel. This painting is a visual symphony of color and chaos, echoing the relentless pursuit and obsession that define Captain Ahab's quest for the elusive white whale. The swirling blue hues represent the vast, unpredictable ocean, a boundless expanse that serves as both the setting and a character in itself. These blues merge and clash with the whites, evoking the majesty and terror of the sea, as well as the haunting purity of Moby-Dick. Interwoven within this aquatic tapestry are streaks of deep reds and blacks, symbolizing the violence, bloodshed, and dark obsession that drive the narrative forward. The red suggests the life and death struggles of the whalers, their sacrifices, and the relentless passion that consumes Ahab. The black embodies the abyss of Ahab's soul, a void filled with vengeance and despair. This composition's chaotic energy reflects the novel's intense emotional landscape, capturing the conflict between man and nature, and the internal battles that rage within the characters. The strokes are both violent and fluid, mirroring the unpredictable nature of the sea and the turbulent psyche of those who dare to challenge it.

For me, painting is not about what it expresses, but how it is painted. In fact, without any sketch, I get caught up in emotional impulses and paint immediately on the canvas. I think of the structure of the immersive whole, but I express the parts through instant intuition and accidental repetition of the layers. I repeat until I identify myself with a scene imaged in me. I’m not interested in seeing and painting something and I‘m interested in forming the image inside me. I always contemplate nature, colors, and human emotions. It's most rewarding when, after completing a painting, I can't quite figure out how I did it. The thrill of being immersed to the point of not knowing exactly what happened, the effortless naturalness without any incompatibility, surpasses the sense of accomplishment from a meticulously calculated process. No matter how beautifully decorated a place may be, it cannot compare to the awe-inspiring presence of nature.
