Leia is an Amur leopard, of which there are only around 100 individuals left in the wild. Here she is depicted as a four month old cub. Amur leopards are classed as critically endangered and Leia represents a vital part of a carefully managed captive breeding program which works to boost the numbers of these beautiful cats and safeguard their future with the end goal being reintroduction of captive bred individuals back into their native habitat. In 2022, building work on a reintroduction centre began and it is hoped that in a few years’ time we will see the first captive bred Amur leopards return to their wild homeland 20% of proceeds from this print will be donated to WildCats Conservation Alliance, a wild tiger and Amur leopard conservation charity that works tirelessly to protect them in the wild.
