ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Oorsprong (Dutch: origins) is an abstract painting on wood, in a series exploring human essence and desires. The materials are acrylic paint and caustic stain on a wooden panel. No additional hanging hardware is required, although it can be attached optionally. Through my paintings I explore the tension between life and death, birth and decay, beauty and chaos. My works are a celebration of life and an attempt to find a form for the unexplainable. Ultimately I hope it helps me bring closer to understanding our universal essence and purpose, perhaps finding acceptance in the fact that all things are temporary.
