ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Tricolor Heron is a beautiful, but smaller species of Heron. It has a deceptive appearance when it is crouched. The neck is quite long when extended. This bird thrusts its neck out and spears little unsuspecting fish. Being very inventive, it has been observed placing a small piece of bread or other food in the water to attract fish for it to spear.
