When I was a kid at school we would have to take our lunch box to school as there was no kitchen or cooking facilities, when the dinner bell would ring we would all sit on the floor to eat our lunch. Almost every day I had a fried egg on rice, the other kids would say, Ta fried egg again you'll begin to start looking like a fried egg. I used to plead with my sister to have something different but we had a lot of chickens and a lot of eggs so it was always fried egg on rice, it was easy for her. I’ve had great success with my egg collection they are travelling all over the world and from the East coast to the West coast of America, I’m very proud of that. How the Egg Ladies came about, I’m actually working on a big 150 X 200 Cms painting in my Goddess series, I have the idea and I know what I want to paint but I’m struggling really struggling in fact I was going to paint over and start again on a new idea but instead decided to take a break and paint something completely different hence the Egg Ladies.

Thailand
Ta Byrne is a Thai artist who lives and works on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, just off the south coast of Thailand. Her Oil Paintings . are vibrant, eye-catching and packed with a sense of fun and humour. Ta takes humans as her focal point in her Figurative Painting but abstracts these figures by distorting them and using a cartoonish style to create a more humorous feel. While her work is mostly representational, she incorporates Surrealist elements in many of her paintings, making her one of the most exciting artists working in Thailand today. Ta comes from humble beginnings, living out her childhood on the rural outskirts of Bangkok as a farmer's daughter. During her teen years, she worked sewing shirts in a Bangkok sweatshop, and it was during this time that she met an old street artist who invited her to his studio. This sparked her desire to become an artist, and since then, she has gone on to produce Abstract and Cubist paintings that have received international acclaim from art connoisseurs.
