Metin Asoglu, who is member of an Abkhazian family who emigrated from their homeland in 1877 and settled in Turkey, was born in 1948. Asoglu, who uses different techniques throughout his 55- year artistic adventure and attaches importance to the diversity of materials in his art, made glass printing, engraving, charcoal productions and opened various exhibitions for a period, and today he has turned to the art of recycling. Using industrial waste as material in his artistic productions with the principle of recycling and upcycling, Asoglu not only gives the material a second quality, but also emphasizes the concept of consumption and its problems, which is a big problem in today's world. Geometric and asymmetrical forms, repetitive, growing and shrinking patterns in Asoglu's works turn into esoteric symbols when viewed for a long time.
