Zee en zeilen inspireert mij. De zee is altijd in beweging. Er gaat kracht vanuit. Ik vind het erg fijn om met olieverf te werken.

My name is Jacqueline Molenaar, born in Utrecht, The Netherlands. My passion for painting arose when I was in my fourties. When I was a child I made drawings for fun and I loved it. But during the years I forgot the fun of doing so. Now a days I make paintings of things that have to do with the sea, like boats. Because the sea is always in movement, the colors change continuously. Boats sail throught the water, there is always a new experience. The coasts in France or Spain excite me to start with a new work, the colors and the beautiful light inspires me. Like the sea, in the city there are also different experiences every moment of the day. The rush of the city, like contruction sites, I try to capture. I like the rush but most of the time I want to escape to peacefulness. I try to capture the crowds in my quiet home. Since last year I also make portraits on request. It was a totally new experiment and I found out that it gives me joy to capture people on canvas. My paintings are made of oil on canvas. I use oil paint because I like to work with it and the material fit my style.
