Encaustic painting, many layers of pure pigments suspended in translucent pure beeswax on primed wood. Blue,grey ,fluorscent and chalk pigments. The surface is smooth but undulating so is more an object/sculpture than a flat painting. The combination of opaque and translucent beeswax gives a depth and 3D quality to the painting. White painted wooden cradle frame on rear, wired and ready to hang. Inspired by the simple act of observing time and movement from ones particular position on the planet.

The patterns and rhythms of time. Its cyclical repetitions are observed from ones particular position on the planet. Wherever or whoever you are, you are the pivot of that motion. Using the suns passage through the extreme shifts of the year, the actual heat of the sun or the visual translation of scientific experiments and observations that prove the Earth’s rotation. I construct my encaustic paintings by collecting pure beeswax, some natural pigments and wood ash from the Swedish forest to give a deep connection to the place and time I am lucky enough to call safe and home.
